Midway Gardens in Chicago, Illinois - 1913
Midway Gardens™ was built in 1913-1914 (demolished 1929) as a city block sized restaurant and entertainment complex. Adorning the structure were many sculptural objects executed by Alphonzo Ianelli with whom Wright collaborated on a number of projects. This garden sculpture Sprite is a full-scale reproduction of one of the originals that sat atop the exterior walls.
